Peace Pod Knitting

Wed, October 17, 20127:00 PM

This past July, a Knitting4Peace Peace Pod (knitting circle) was started here at our church. There has been a core group of 5-6 members that meets from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. in the parlor on Tuesday afternoons and works on scarves, hats, and Peace Pals (knitted dolls) for the Women4Women/Knitting4Peace organization. We have been able to send over 66 scarves, 1 hat, and 5 Peace Pals to the organization; a big accomplishment for only 12 weeks worth of knitting!
Since our inception, we have also received many inquiries regarding our meeting time. Many women who work would like to participate in a Peace Pod, but are unable to attend in the afternoons. Until now, they have graciously supported the Peace Pod by knitting at home, and their scarves, hats and Peace Pals have helped us achieve the large number of items we have been able to send to children in need. Now that fall has arrived and schedules are settling into place, we would like to offer another Peace Pod/knitting circle opportunity in the evenings.
Starting on Wednesday October 17, the church will be open for anyone who would like to help us knit scarves, hats, Peace Pals or blankets to send to Women4Women/Knitting 4Peace. We will meet in the office space across from the church office on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. (David Kwon’s old office space). If you are interested in joining this knitting circle, please drop on by. If you have questions, please call the church for further information
