Healing Ministries

Stephen Ministers

Stephen Ministers connect the Biblical calling of lay ministers to serve others through the Holy Spirit by equipping lay persons to provide Christian one-to-one care to those who are experiencing all kinds of life needs and circumstances, both in the congregation and the community. Stephen Ministry is based on the belief that all Christians are ministers.

ChristCare Small Group Ministry

ChristCare Small Group Ministry is the group component of Stephen Ministries. Group members give and receive the principles of Christ’s love and care to one another.  With the work of the Holy Spirit the groups build community and caring, and provide biblical equipping, prayer and worship.

Deacon's Ministry

Deacon's Ministry is an office of sympathy, witness and service as set forth in Scripture after the example of Jesus Christ. It is the duty of deacons to minister to those who are in need, to the sick, to the friendless, and to any who may be in distress.  Deacons provide the elements for communion and assist with the spiritual care of the church community.

Prayer Shawl and Quilt Ministry

Shawl and Quilt Ministry is made up of women and men who make quilts and shawls for those experiencing medical or emotion or spiritual needs.  The products are placed in the narthex upon completion for members to tie knots and/or pray for the recipients.  The quilt is then delivered to the recipient along with a prayer note of blessings.

Soup Ministry

Soup Ministry is dedicated to nurturing of body and soul.  Church members make homemade soups and then freeze them so that they are always available. The ministry grew out of the ChristCare ministry. All are welcome to take soup to any person as an expression of Christian Care.

SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICES...

A SEASON OF THANKS AND PRAISE!

During the month of October, the worship here at First Presbyterian Church will be marked by praise and thanks for the God moments in our lives. “What’s a God moment?” you ask. A God moment is when we have a sense that God is present in our lives in a powerful and unmistakable way. It can be a sudden sense of peace that washes over you. It can be the way that events line up that can’t be explained other than that the hand of God is involved. It can be a sense that God has revealed His presence, love and direction to you.   Each worship service in October will feature someone’s God’s moment and some special music. The month’s worship services will culminate with a Festival of Praise during worship on October 28. Are you looking for a faith-lift? Well, then join us for worship each Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
