Confirmation Class

Confirmation class prepares young people to become members of the Presbyterian Church and also involves making a commitment to Christianity. Most of the young people taking the class are in 8th grade, but may also be in 9th grade.

The curriculum helps young people gain a basic understanding of what the church is all about; it reviews some of the basic bible stories of God's people, it explains the teachings and messages of Jesus, and helps students gain a better understanding of what it means to be a Christian. Lessons include discussion and are supplemented with learning games and activities such as jeopardy, bingo, and others.  At the end of the class, the young people affirm that they believe in God and Jesus, accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior and agree to be his disciple, and they commit to being an active church member.  The church session then receives the confirmands as official members of the church.
